While performing at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Taylor Swift caught the attention of music industry veteran Scott Borchetta, who signed her to his newly formed label. Swift joined Big Machine Records and released her debut single, “Tim McGraw,” in August 2006.

This debut made her an instant celebrity in the country world. but 2008′s ‘Fearless’ positioned her as the year’s biggest star of any genre. At the end of 2009 ‘Fearless’ had sold nearly six million copies in America alone, making it the year’s best selling album. In 2010 Swift focused her attention on wrapping up her third album ‘Speak Now’, which she had written entirely on her own throughout the two previous years.

In 2011, Taylor Swift visited Singapore to start her world tour. She was ranked second on Rolling Stone’s lists of top 16 ‘Queen of Pops’ of the decade. Swift appeared on the Hamish & Andy show where she performed a new song called “Chaperone Dads”, which is dedicated a select group of her fans. The week following the release of her “Sparks Fly” video Swift jumped from nineteen to ten on the Billboard’s Social 50. Swift has revealed that she has already written 25 songs for an untitled follow-up album to Speak Now, set to release in the later part of 2012. She commented on them, “They’re sad.
